Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of HR. The Director of HR is responsible for setting legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing innovative long-range strategic talent management goals with a focus on inclusion.

Responsibilities and Duties

-Collaborate with Founders to define the team and company culture; identify ways to support our purpose and values through talent management.
-Identify key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assess market competitiveness based on these metrics.
-Create and implement an ambitious recruitment strategy in a highly competitive market
-Manage the entire recruitment process including participation in interviews and hiring decisions
-Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
-Provide guidance to the Founders and managers, assisting with positive resolution of human resource, compensation or performance concerns and issues.
-Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
-Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
-Draft and implement the budget for the human resource department.
-Work with leadership team to define and implement best practices for diversity and inclusion
-Participate in the definition of roles and responsibilities
-Define and implement a long-term vision for training and talent development
-Define and manage an onboarding program for new employees
-Other HR leadership responsibilities as required

Experience and skills required
-8+ years of experience in an HR management role
-Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters or law degree preferred.
-Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
-Strong experience implementing diversity and inclusion best practices
-Excellent attention to detail and ability to think outside the box
-Thorough knowledge of Quebec employment-related laws and regulations.
-Bilingual, with excellent skills in English and French, written and oral communication
-Experience in recruiting a big plus.
